Scholarship Program

Launching in 2023, our scholarship program will award scholarships to Ventura County Latinas pursuing higher education.

Why Latinas? While latinas have made tremendous strides in recent years, they are still significantly behind their white female counterparts in educational attainment. For starters, around 20% of latinas have bachelors degrees compared with 40% of white women. And only 8% have masters degrees. Even after college, Latinas face a considerable wage gap of earning only 52 cents of every dollar made by white men. This leaves latinas disproportionately having the lowest paid jobs in our nation. There are significant barriers Latinas face in regards to access to education, including a lack of mentorship and a lack of resources, especially financial support. (Data source: census.gov)

We intend to award one student from Moorpark High School and one student from the Ventura County area at the end of the 2023-2024 school year.
